Guide
How do you sell from a fridge without staff, and how is it charged and controlled?
The customer authorises payment with their card, opens the door and takes what they want. Each shelf weighs and, on closing, only what is missing by weight is charged. The panel records every opening, every sale and the stock by weight.
uNobo Connect is an automated 24-hour retail operating system: it joins payment, machine and operator panel in one unattended business and leaves a clear trail of every sale.

| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| Before opening | The customer taps their card on the fridge’s reader, which places a temporary hold. The operator sets the amount. They only pay for what they take. |
| Opening | The door unlocks. |
| Selection | The shelves work as calibrated scales: the customer chooses with their hands, not on a screen. What they put back on its shelf is not charged. |
| Closing | When the door closes, what was removed is charged by weight and the rest of the hold is released. |
| Panel | Every opening, every sale and the stock level by weight. |
| Models | NV001 and NV002 already work this way on the network. |
| In development | QR opening with hold and micro-markets, which we assess case by case. |
A fridge for selling, not a kitchen appliance
This guide is about the unattended-selling fridge: the one that charges and controls what leaves it. It is not a connected kitchen fridge: here there is payment, stock and an operator panel.
uNobo Connect charges by weight and keeps the trail of every sale, with no staff next to the fridge.
How it is controlled
Each shelf is calibrated with the product it carries; if you change the product, it is calibrated again. The panel records every opening, every sale and the stock by weight.
If a customer leaves a product on another shelf, the system warns. And if the fridge carries age-restricted products, age verification is part of opening.
Limits and what is in development
QR opening with hold needs to validate how payment is guaranteed with no cashier or visible reader. A micro-market, with several fridges and shelving in an unstaffed space, is a variant in development, with no proven case on the network.
We do not present as available what is not yet: we start with a technical review of your space.
Frequently asked questions
How is it charged if it is sold by weight?
The price is calculated on the weight that leaves the fridge. When the door closes, what was removed is charged and the rest of the card hold is released.
What is the card hold, and is it returned?
It is a temporary authorisation so the door can open. The operator sets the amount. Only what the customer takes is charged; the rest of the hold is released on closing.
What if the customer puts a product back?
What they put back on its shelf is not charged. If they leave it on another shelf, the system warns.
Does it work for several fridges or a micro-market?
One or several selling fridges, yes. A micro-market, with fridges and shelving in an open space, is in development and has no proven case on the network yet.
How much does the system cost?
The tariff is public and per machine, from €0 (START) to €228 a year (GROW), + VAT, with no lock-in and zero commission on your sales. See the tariff
